Tall white trees, bare of all leaves, like deformed, skeletal structures they were. Amidst a sea of white sand the bone-white structures were rather fitting, given how lifeless the land looked. In the many millions of years within this land, one could only wonder how great the number of battles had been waged amongst Hollow kind. How many times had Hollows gathered together, with the sole purpose of fighting and devouring each other for greater strength? How many times had the feasting of Hollows commenced here, to produce an incredibly large yet uniform-looking Menos Grande or Gillian? One couldn't answer, but they could very easily say that as long as Hollows existed, many more fights would come. It was natural instinct of the Hollows to feast and devour all that existed.

But of the Hollow, of the Arrancar, and of the Espada that were considered the greatest warriors amongst this masked kind, there was one, lone warrior who indeed embodied this very instinct down to the core, a killer whose bloodlust and desire for greater power was infinite. Few Arrancar and Hollow could say they were close to the desire for battle and it's rewards as much as this one, an Arrancar who sat seemingly alone in the crystal forests, a hand rapping against an iron club-weapon that stood on it's hexagonal base without problem in the sand. The sheer size of it was as great as a full man, yet the one who wielded it did not initially look like the kind capable of lifting it.

Indeed, the one who owned said weapon, the one with the incredible, Hollow bloodlust, was a young woman with violet hair and a shapely body, clad in little else other than a white top resembling a kosode but being cut off shorter to expose her middle, along with a pair of white shorts that exposed most of the thighs, and a large tattoo of the number nine along with them. A pair of small white horns poked out from her hair, while small fangs poked out of the corners of her mouth. She did not look too threatening despite the fangs and horns, but one who knew her knew to steer clear of her.

Alita Vinci. The Noveno Espada. A warrior of such bloodlust that most Espada would admit, regardless of rank, that she was the most out of control warrior of the lot of them. Her pure, physical strength exceeded her rank, while she had to make up for her less than impressive intellect with pure, animalistic instinct. Perhaps if she took more time to plan out her attacks she would be of higher rank, but she cared little - Her interest was not in rank, but in power and fighting. It had always been so, and it would always be, just as the Hollows would always devour. Sitting seemingly alone in the crystal forests, her face twisted into a frown.

"I need another fight".

Dragón slowly walked through the crystal forest, enjoying the feel of an old dwelling of his. Of course, the same applied to all Arrancar. This place was the dwelling of the menos, after all. And although Dragón wasn't the sentimental type, he liked to see something that was exactly as it had always been, something that was unchanged. Especially when he was bored. He had come to learn that fights were not the only way to lower his lashings at lesser Hollows. These old places, where he had lived while gaining more power, soothed him. It didn't even come close to a fight, however, but when he had no opponents, this was the only way to feel some relief.

However, as he walked, he sensed the reiatsu of another Espada. If he remembered correctly, it was the Noven Espada. Alita something. He didn't care much for the Espada below him, but from what he had heard, she seemed to enjoy battles as well. At the first sensation, he clenched his teeth, but it loosened and turned into a smile. This Espada could give him some relief in two ways, and either way worked for him. Either she would want to fight him. Of course, he would not be the one to start, that was below him. Or, if she did not wish to fight against him, they could go on a two-man raid in the human world, enjoying battle together, the way it was supposed to be enjoyed.

As he came closer, he slowed down, and spoke.
"I see I'm not the only one who felt like going down here, Espada. Do you also long for the simplicity that once was?"
His words didn't mean anything, it was merely a way to show her his existence, and to allow him to analyze the response she would give him. Either she would speak and attack, attack, or, maybe, just speak. If she did the last of the options, he would continue by asking her to come to the real world with him. It was not like he needed her for that, though. He could easily manage by himself. But he was intrigued by the rumors surrounding her, and wanted to see her fight more than the tiny part he had seen earlier, in the circular hall. The target for her battle mattered little.

Raising her head, she could see the figure nearing her, and she merely sat in place as she watched him walk closer. The Sexta Espada, Dragon del Fuego. Despite being higher in rank than her by three numbers, she lacked any respect whatsoever for him. Not out of any spite or hate, but merely because she held everyone else in the same regard. What did she care for others? Nothing. The Espada? They were the best warriors around, and the ones she could enjoy fighting with because with conquering each one she'd be able to enjoy the rise in power. Her Fraccion? She simply let him follow. She wasn't going to go back and assist him if he couldn't keep up. She had no care for the weak, after all. And the rest? They were either thrash or warriors, and the warriors were the only ones she could truly enjoy a fight with. But that was it - They would be killed by her someday.

And then he began speaking, asking her about whether she 'longed for the simplicity that once was' or not. As though she really cared. Was Aizen good for the Arrancar? Was he bad? Was he someone the Arrancar should move away from? Someone they should kill? Alita did not muck about trying to solve the mysteries of life. She did not contemplate the state of the Arrancar and Hollow. Perhaps she was thankful for the exposure to the Hougyoku, but beyond that she felt nothing else. Looking up at the Espada looking at her, she allowed her own eyes to maintain contact, sharpening ever so slightly. Regardless of who was in control and the state of the Hollows, Arrancar, Shinigami and the world at large, she had only one desire.

"I want a fight" she remarked, before clutching tightly the handle of her incredibly heavy weapon and, with what looked like no effort, she stood up and lifted the giant of a club with one hand over her head. Hefting it onto her shoulder, she allowed it to lie there without problem. Perhaps what she was about to do was not the smartest thing in the world, but she had long since grown bored of playing by rules and pondering over all of her decisions. The gut instinct she had was far more fun to listen to. And with a grin painted across her face, she made her move.

"Try not to die, gecko!" she exclaimed as suddenly she rushed forwards, lifting the club off of her shoulder and, as she neared the Espada, she swung the heavy club, intending to smash her opponent's head down between her club and the ground. Naturally, she wasn't even going to bother with banter first. All she really needed was a voice to make her battle cry and an opponent to bludgeon to death.

Dragón smiled at her words, and as she ran towards him, he unsheathed his two meter long sword. Instead of dodging or getting away, however, he moved his blade above his head, moving his left arm to the flat of the blade to make it steadier, once the iron club would smash into it. When it did, he was surprised to see that there was actually quite a lot of power in the strike. Had he not been a strength-type arrancar himself, he most certainly would've made a mistake by blocking like this. Smiling at her, he spoke again.
"Impressive, girl. However, you will find that I'm more than your match. Bola del Fuego!"
With his last words, a ball of flame shot out towards Alita. Dragón was quite certain it would hit, since her weapon was weighing down on his, and to heavy to be moved around to block. Then again, she was strong, and she seemed able to react nicely. Thus, he kept his fiery eyes looked on hers, to be prepared if she evaded and attacked, or rather, if she attacked.

Although he was the Sexta Espada, and she merely the Noveno, he had come to realize that the ranks were not always correct, as evidenced by Raziel's earlier battle against the Segunda Espada. Because of that, he took care not to underestimate Alita. He would judge her power himself. And if she proved stronger than him, well, then he would have no choice but to back down. But if he proved to be the stronger one, he would not hesitate to make her know her place, even if it killed her. Then again, Aizen might not like it if an Espada killed an Espada, so if it came to that, he would have to settle with making certain she understood she was below him.

As the battle continued, his smile grew wider. This was what he lived for, after all.

Alita hadn't even listened as he spoke, too focused on fighting to care. Watching as her club came down only to be blocked as he raised his weapon, she smirked, ready to follow up, but watching as a ball of flame lashed out at her she quickly reacted to his attack. That is, rather than try to avoid it or try to block it, she instead continued to push against her opponent, using her strength and heavy weapon to push him back through the sand and, if possible, throw him on his back. The shot of flame came at her as she did this, landing directly on her chest and torso. The burning flames scorched her skin and burnt apart her clothes somewhat, but regardless she continued to push against him.

Eventually, as the flames died down, she let out a bestial roar, using the heavy weight to push aside his weapon as her mouth opened wide, revealing something she had been charging up earlier since the moment he tried the ball of flame - A violet orb of energy gathered in her mouth that began to swell and expand rapidly as if fired forwards, a giant burst of energy erupting forwards in an attack that could only be the very trademark of Hollow kind, the grand technique of Hollows - Cero.

Her brutal tactics were showing through - if this guy was so much stronger than her, she'd just have to be a lot more fierce and merciless. Blasting the guy at close range with a Cero was ideal. Of course, she herself had already taken a direct hit from a very painful fire attack, but she was tough enough to still stand up to it and continue her assault. After all, she didn't get the rank Noveno through sheer laziness, and the only reason she hadn't ascended was due to her reckless, tactless nature.

Had Dragón not focused on strength himself, he would most certainly have been knocked over. As it was, he was merely forced to drop down to one knee. However, to Dragón, who was proud of his strength, that was almost as bad. And the fact that Alita hadn't evaded his attack, but rather took it straight on, unprotected, impressed and surprised him. And the response in turn made him grit his teeth. Alita fired a cero right at him, at close range. Normally, he'd just take it straight on, or use a bala to deflect it. After all, he was the sexta and she was the noveno. But, as proven by her furiously strong arms, she was not to be underestimated. Although Dragón enjoyed taunting his opponents and act all high and mighty, he never fell short of underestimating his enemy. Never.

His decision was swiftly made. He shoved his left elbow on the blade, to keep up the blockade, and twisted his hand to meet the cero. Firing a bala, the only thing he had time to do, he hoped that he would at least limit the damage the cero would take on him. Bracing himself, he waited for the cero, and it came swiftly. It crashed right into him, and he could feel his knee gliding through the sand. Gritting his teeth together, he did his best to hold firm, while looking at Alita.
Slowly, he gave her a gritting smile.
"Pilar del Fuego"
As he saw the small, crackling flames erupting beneath Alita, not hurting her, or doing anything to make her suspect an attack was preparing, unless she would look down in time to escape the fiery pillar that would soon appear, he gave in to the force of the Cero, falling backwards as it exploded around him.

Slowly, he stood up again, his upper clothing almost utterly destroyed. Smiling, he nodded to her.
"Not bad, girl, not bad at all. It has been a long time since I had a fight I could enjoy like this. I give you credit for that. However, you will soon learn what facing Dragón de Fuego, Sexta Espada, means."
His words were both truth, and a way to try and keep her from looking down, and, even better, stop her attacks for an instant. It was not that he feared her attacks, or was growing weary, but his pillar was not made to be moved around, and could easily be avoided as long as you noticed it in time.

Grinning as her Cero pushed through, ramming straight into the Espada and blowing him back, she let out a loud, cackling laugh. A bloodthirsty chortle that rang throughout the forest of quartz trees. Indeed, from their attacks so far, many of the nearby trees had already been blown back and broken apart. The powerful blast of sheer condensed reiatsu rang out and, even though the brunt of it was being taken by Dragon, the sheer force radiating outwards from it was enough to level even more of the crystalline structures all around. Watching as he was thrown backwards, taking the blast despite his attempts to defend, her laughing continued, sounding out loud enough to practically be heard all throughout Hueco Mundo. Crashing her club down beside her for little more than emphasis, she began to speak.

"Ha! You call yourself Sexta Espada? You're too weak! I may as well invert my own tattoo right now!" she yelled back, before bursting into laughter again. Lifting the heavy weapon she raised it, ready to attack, but as she tried to step forwards a burning pillar of flame pushed upwards from beneath her, and suddenly she found herself being thrown up into the air, flames licking at her body and leaving burns on her skin. Given that she had just taken a fireball moments ago, this was not exactly the best direction the fight had gone in so far. But after a few seconds of the flames she whipped her club around and set it beneath her to prevent the rest of the flames from having their turn at scorching her body, which now held harsh burns on her thighs, calves and feet, with lesser burns on her upper body and arms due to it coming from below.

As the flames died she landed a moment later, crashing to the earth and rolling to lessen impact, before using the club to pull herself up again, her legs and feet twitching from the burning they had just gone through. But despite the experience, her smirk only grew, with her eyes gleaming in excitement. "Ha, just as I thought, the big bad Sexta has a couple of fangs. I wonder if he's got anything better than that, though! If not, this might just be too easy!" she yelled back at him, waiting for his move. It was a bit hard running with burnt legs, she would admit.

As the pillar erupted and burned harshly on the Noveno Espada, Dragón grinned. The Noveno Espada really was a best, only looking to the front. Not that there was something wrong with that. The very opposite, in Dragón's mind. He was impressed by the ferociousness and the instincitve fighting skills that the Noveno had. Smiling, Dragón looked at her as she fell down and rolled, his more sadistic part reveling in the obvious pain she had taken, and his more sane part reveling in the strength she showed. If Dragón were ever to get a girl, this was the one he'd choose. But, since he was a Hollow, and since he enjoyed fighting much to much, he did not think in those paths.
"Interesting. You are undoubtly a powerful foe, although three ranks lower than me. I salute you, Noveno Espada. You've earned my gratitude. If we do not kill one another, I wish we will fight again someday.
As for my fangs, you've yet to see me fight the way I prefer. Body close to body, weapons crashing together. Pummeling the enemy, being pummeled by the enemy."

With that, he let go of the sword with his left hand, and twirled it over his head with his right, before he lowered it, the point facing Alita.
"Now, let's either finish this, or take it to the next level, Espada!"
Rushing straight forward, much like Alita had done earlier, he came up close to her. Twisting the blade behind him, edge facing away from his body, he jumped, spun, and used his body as weight to push the sword harder towards her. Of course, he was fairly certain that she would be able to block him. She did, after all, have that huge club of hers. But he was prepared. If she blocked, he would use the momentum to continue to spin, and smash his free left hand as close to her collar bone as he could manage. He smiled brightly as he moved, enjoying every second of this fight, almost much enough to ignore the injuries caused by the cero.

Smirking as the man leapt towards her with a spinning slash attack, she swung up her own weapon and with sheer strength was able to collide with his Zanpakutoh and effectively stop it in it's tracks, blocking his attack effectively with the large size and heavy weight of her club. But just as he wasn't done, neither was she. As his own fist came down to collide with her collarbone, her own left foot shot up, aiming to land a solid kick with the sole of her foot that would slam right into his diaphragm, an attack that would knock the breath out of a foe. As she kicked, of course, the punch landed on her shoulder, causing the right arm to flinch slightly in pain as her foot swung up to kick him. Regardless of whether or not her kick landed, she made her next move quickly.

Pushing off of her other foot, she soared upwards, aiming to land a strong headbutt to her foe, before pushing his blade away from her, raising her own club up. With a grin, she decided to do something he wasn't going to expect at this stage. "Smash, Fuerza!" she bellowed before cackling as a violet, violent whirlwind suddenly engulfed her, the sheer energy blowing the nearby 'trees' to tiny pieces of rubble, while the sand was blown upwards and outwards like a sort of sandstorm. Greater and greater in size the whirlwind grew, until it blew apart at a great fifty feet, revealing the now gigantic form of Alita, whose horns had grown longer and more threatening, with a great club proportional to her size that now featured spikes, as well as a change in outfit - Covering her chest were a pair of plate-like skull masks, while a loincloth covered her lower body. Her violet hair was now like a mane, and oozing out of her was a great spiritual pressure.

With not so much as a word of warning, he great club now crashed down into the sands, the sheer strength kicking up even more of the sand than before, making a gigantic crater in the sand. Her target had been the Sexta, who would no doubt have been shocked by the sheer size and power of her released form, if not merely the fact that she released so quickly. But then, it would be boring if he had gone and died so easily just because she had released, wouldn't it?

Dragón enjoyed his plan for but a second, before he noticed the kick. Suddenly, his momentum was working to his disadvantage, making it near impossible to avoid it. Thus, the kick hit him right where it was supposed to, sending him backwards, without a breath. As he looked at Alita, with a look that expressed the joy of a good foe, as well as the pain when loosing one's breath, she used her resurreccion. Dragón was startled, of course, but at the same time he couldn't help but to feel a bit happy. Now, the battle would come to an entirely other level. However, the power that she expressed was huge enough to make him wince. Truly, she was more than she looked like at a first glance. In fact, this might even become a really though battle, even though he outranked her by three.

Suddenly, the now gigantic club came crashing towards him. Cursing, he stood. He hadn't regained his breath completely yet, and as such movement was a pain. But if he stayed, he would die. That much was certain. He quickly used a sonido to get out of the away, although he did not manage to avoid the club completely. His left leg was caught beneath one of the spikes that now protruded from the club. Gasping in pain, he looked up at the Noveno espada.
Through his clenched teeth, he spoke the words of his own resurreccion, which would not only enable him to go all out, but also to regenerate his lost leg.
"Shoukyaku, Jigoku!"
Suddenly, his body erupted in flames, which slowly surrounded him, and left in it's midst a being in a black robe, with orange flame-patterns on the arms, and orange patterns of a dragon on the back and the front of the robe. He grew as well, although just twice the size of his regular body. His head lost all flesh, and showed a skull, crowned with horns that went down to end close to his mouth. His regular three black stripes still covered the right eye socket. Inside the eye sockets ember-like dots appeared instead of his regular, fiery, eyes.
His feet grew thin and, shedding the flesh, revealed the skeleton, while growing into formidable claws. His hands were similarly changed into skeletal claws, his sword gone.

The skull moved in what could only be seen as a grin.
"Well then, Noveno Espada, let's get this party started. I will show you a fiery hell!"
He then used a sonido to come close to Alita's throath, where he moved to use his claws to slash into it. Since this was his resurreccion, the claws were extremely sharp, and would probably get through most hierros in resurreccion. However, he knew that he would most likely have to give Alita several slashes, given her new size. Even if he did penetrate the hierro at once, he would have to work his way through the flesh to actually punctuate her throat.

As the Sexta released, she couldn't help but grin widely as his reiatsu filled the air. It was strong and deadly, much like her own and the Octava's. With her sharp eyes she kept alert, focused on his now released form as it suddenly darted up, shooting quickly along as a static filled the air. Appearing before her he now brought up his claws and swiped. Perhaps this might have worked against other giant enemies like the Menos Grande, but Alita was different.

Pushing her back foot further back she slid in reverse, just out of the way of the Arrancar's claws as they attempted to slice her neck, now missing by several meters. Every small movement she made was now in incredibly huge one to her foe, something that made her release that much greater. Whipping one hand up she attempted to catch the Sexta Espada in her tight grip, planning to grab a hold of the almost toy-like figure before her and throw him to the ground. She was a brutal fighter, after all.

"Try it! Before I burn to a crisp, I'll squeeze you until your guts come out!" she yelled, grinning. The world was practically her playground at this size. A foe to her was small enough to practically be a toy. Perhaps she should take her Espada opponent more seriously, but she didn't care - it was rare that she met such a challenging opponent to fight without being interrupted. He was pretty quick for a small guy, too. But she wouldn't let that stop her - She may have only been Noveno Espada, but even she could take her superiors down a few pegs if she was given the chance. Or at least, she believed she could. But believing achieved great things, didn't it?

As Dragón's claws missed by meters, he cursed his own folly. Of course her movements would take her much further now. That was basic knowledge. As the hand came towards him, he realized he had no way to dodge it completely, and as such, offense was the best defense. Well, the technique he planned was a defensive one, but...
"Aureola del Diablo"
The flames surrounding his body increased, becoming thicker and hotter. However, he wasn't simply going to wait for her to grab him. His defensive move was good, but even though it would burn this giant as well, he had seen earlier on that pain was something she could ignore. Thus, he would be crushed if he was foolish enough to trust that his fiery shield would be able to protect him completely. The question was, would he attempt to evade the hand, or get onto it. The latter was more appalling to him, but since the cost of his shield was great on his reiatsu, he decided to use another weapon than the claws... at least instead of the ones on his hands.
"Espadas del Diablo. Let's see what you will do next, Noveno!"
As blades of fire formed in his hands, he used his reiatsu to jump a bit higher, and towards the hand coming towards him, intending to land on the arm. If he were to succeed, he would remove his shield almost at once before running towards her head, on her arms, using his clawed feet to wound her and make certain he had a good grip. As he jumped he couldn't evade completely, but was hit in the foot. However, he had enough speed to evade capture, but it was still a slap, and by a giant no less.

He was grinning as the pain surged through him. His mind reminded him over and over what a great battle this was. All alone with the Noveno, who's brutish instincts made her a though, funny, opponent. He didn't make any delusions that she would not try to kill him, that was obvious with how they had fought earlier. And although he wasn't holding back, he was hoping to defeat her without killing her. After all, a defeated foe could return and challenge you again, while a dead could not. Despite the destructive nature of Hollows, that was how he liked to fight. If not ordered to kill, he would do his best to avoid any deaths. After all, if he killed everyone, who would be chasing after him?

Her opponent had managed to boost himself upwards as her hand came straight for him with the intent to crush him in her palm. Her hands brushed against him as he ascended, but ultimately the much smaller opponent evaded capture, landing instead on her arm. This wasn't anything new to her - Smaller opponents often had to scale the way up her body to do more damage to her when she was a Hollow and it had been no different whenever she had released as an Arrancar. Seeing her opponent now beginning to run up the length of her arm despite what injuries her slapping hand had left when it brushed against him in mid-leap, she decided to take care of the problem quickly and without a single hesitation.

In what may as well have been a purely reflexive action her hand whipped upwards through the air, swinging wide around in an attempt to essentially catapult her foe through the air. But this wasn't any normal foe she had faced before - This was the Sexta Espada! She knew instinctively that that wouldn't be enough. And so, with a grin on her face she let go of her club for a moment, leaving her second hand free for use. "It's been tried and done before, dumbass! You're doing nothing new!" she yelled as her now free hand shot forwards, attempting to succeed where the first had failed before and attempted to snatch the Arrancar out of the air and crush him in her hand. She didn't even care about his blades of fire - She never thought of the dangers, after all.

"Got something that'll actually work or is that all to the Sexta Espada, huh?!" she yelled aloud, grinning as she began to let out a rather unfeminine laugh, filled only with pure madness and the lust for battle that both fighters shared. Her giant form was a difficult thing for most to fight against in battle - Its great size made her an easy target, yet still most attacks were tiny compared to her, despite how big they were to normal opponents. A different method was needed to deal with her size advantage and sadly most warriors that fought her lacked this means of fighting. Especially those who were all brain and no brawn. After all, brawn and pure power was needed to injure a giant.

Chapter 1: The White Conflict
BLS' first plot event ended, the Jinchuu having rescued a few slaves and significantly increased their ranks. Though still far from equal, and not close to being ready for a head to head confrontation... The Jinchuu have proven that they are in fact a threat to the hollow who now claim ownership of the three realms.
